I just had to tell you that I totally understand the being jealous of short people. I even hate people with little feet. I am 5'8" and wear a size 9 or 10 shoe and I totally hate standing next to short people, I feel like like the Jolly Green Giant. I feel ya sister, I understand.

I'm glad you're feeling comfortable with not babysitting. Also glad you don't feel any need to tell her - I'm sorry if my earlier post on the subject was too doom-and-gloom, but what you said about her being raised manners-free set off a whole lot of alarms.

I can think of a quick way to get her to stop asking... next time she asks, tell her how much you charge ;)

Great blog, btw.

Lovin the new look, Elizabeth......

Love your blog....and praying for you, Sweetie.

Good for you. All you have to say is no. If she asks why or starts to try to play the guilt card, stay firm -- polite but firm. It's so easy to feel pressured into giving excuses or giving in, so just be prepared.

Good for you, Elizabeth! You have to do what's best for you, and it looks like you know that. Also, good for you on engaging in the abortion debate in a civil way. Every now and then I enter the fray, then back right out again. But it's great when you can actually make friends in the process, which has happened to me and it looks like happened to you, too. Well done!

Arwen,

Glad you're feeling better about this now. Just remember for the future...being nice doesn't mean saying 'yes' all the time. ;-)

take care,
Kate

Good for you!!
LOVE it that you are cooking your man a home cooked meal!!
And I love the idea of telling her how much you charge! LOL!!
HUGS!
