Did you guess right? Congratulations! You're welcome to that piece of candy anytime you want to stop by and pick it up.
Bryan and I always have a Christmas budget - on spreadsheet, no less - which dictates how much we can spend on each person on our list, and how much we can spend on each other. He always, always goes over budget on my presents. But he's never before come close to this year: he outdid himself and got me a MacBook. Needless to say, I love it. I've always had PCs before and while my Dell laptop was great, the Mac is something else entirely. So sleek! So fast! Such clean lines! It's a joy just to check my email.
Sure proof that I am getting to be Old and an Adult is that my other best gift is a marble rolling pin from Williams Sonoma. My dad picked up one for me and one for my sister, and I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be this excited about a piece of kitchen equipment, but I am. I practically started drooling when I opened it.
Of course my very favorite Christmas gift is the one who made her appearance in October and is therefore not technically a Christmas present. But she is my gift of the year, my miracle of the year, and even though she slept so badly last week that I was practically insane with sleep-deprivation by the time the Feast of the Nativity rolled around, I lay in bed early Christmas morning looking at her and being grateful for her with all my being.
Merry Christmas to all those who are still celebrating it!
